The Benefits Of California Wool
Wool is a complex natural fibre evolved over millions of years to successfully protect sheep
(and now people) from extremes of temperature and weather conditions. Our
farmers grow some of the best wool in the world, and you can get yours at Lambtown, USA!
Comfort
Wool is the only fibre used by man that is able to 'breathe'. It can absorb
up to a third of its weight in moisture without becoming clammy or damp. The
moisture then evaporates into the atmosphere, assisting our bodies' efforts
to keep cool and acting as a natural air conditioner.
Woollen sock fibres trap air, which is a poor conductor, creating superb
insulation. The air pockets hold in warmth and keep out the cold in chilly
weather, while also keeping the body cool and the heat out in warm
conditions.
Wool is naturally water repellent, keeping you warm and dry in wet
conditions.
Resilience
Wool fibres have natural elasticity and a natural wave or 'crimp', making it
very resilient. Wool springs easily back into shape, even after repeated
washing.
Static Resistance
Unlike synthetic fibres, wool doesn't attract static electricity sparks, or
cling to the body. Static electricity charges actively attract dirt so wool
doesn't get as dirty and is easier to clean.
Easy To Care For
Because it holds its shape without wrinkling, doesn't attract dirt and
(given a few easy to follow rules) cleans easily, wool really is EASY CARE.
Hi-Tech
No man-made fibre can match wool's unique combination of warmth, absorbency,
insulation, resilience, texture and sheer versatility. Wool fibre can be
used for anything from high fashion garments to soaking up oil spills!
