Gabrielle Menn, Fiber Artist & 2006 National Spinning Champion
In 1996, award-winning fiber artist Gabrielle Menn came home to Fanfare Farms with a spinning wheel and told her mother, Cheryl Woods, "I
want to get four sheep: a black one, a white one, a gray one, and a brown one." Cheryl's response was, "No, no, no! You want alpacas!"
So, in 1997, Cheryl got her alpacas and Gabrielle got her sheep. The two have been working together ever since in their fiber venture.
Gabrielle's unique creations are carried in shops throughout Northern California. Not only does she spin, weave, dye, knit, crochet, felt,
and sew, but she also teaches. Raising the animals and spinning a variety of fibers has given Gabrielle a unique perspective on what is
desirable in a yarn and which yarns are best suited for specific end uses. This knowledge has resulted in her earning top awards in both
local and national fiber arts competitions and as a sought after speaker and instructor. She has a very out-going personality and loves to
share her enthusiasm for fiber.
