Division 011-011: Three Most Valuable Fleeces for Handspinning from a Single Producer.
(From sheep, Cashmere or Angora goats, or alpaca).
Winner of this Division will win the Lambtown Cup Perpetual Trophy!
Rules for Fleeces
1. Only complete fleeces in the grease are eligible for competition.
2. Only 2 fleeces per exhibitor will be accepted in each class.
3. Fleeces shall not be more than 12 months growth. The definition of "12 months" shall be the definition accepted by the
wool trade. Thus if a fleece is actually slightly more than 12 months growth, due to unavoidable delay in obtaining shearers,
or by weather, it shall be termed "12 months" wool.
4. All fleeces entered must have been sheared from animals owned by exhibitor.
5. The judge has the power to reclassify fleeces to appropriate class prior to judging.
6. Fleeces shall be rolled, flesh side out, and placed in a clear plastic bag. Paper twine is discouraged. Tag fleeces with
the following information: Exhibitor's name, Division, Class, breed & sex of animal, price per pound or NOT FOR SALE, and
return shipping information.
7. All shipping to and from Lambtown, USA is the financial responsibility of the exhibitor. Lambtown, USA will assist with
return shipping when instructions are on the entry. Ship fleeces to Wool Show, c/o Dana Foss, 350 West A St., Dixon, CA
95620. Please indicate your plans for shipping or pick-up on your entry form. Exhibitors wishing to sell fleeces must state
price per pound on entry form and entry tag. Fleeces will be weighed prior to judging. Checks will be made payable to the
exhibitor from the buyer. Fleeces that are not sold and are not claimed by 8 p.m. October 3rd or are entered with no return
instructions will become property of Lambtown, USA.
8. Prizes will be awarded for Champion and Reserve Champion Natural Colored and White Fleeces in each class.
9. The perpetual Lambtown Cup Trophy will be awarded to the winner of the Three Most Valuable Fleeces for Handspinning
from a Single Producer. All fleeces for this trophy MUST be identified by producer PRIOR to the judging of the Wool and Mohair
Show. No substitutions will be allowed. There is a $10 entry fee to participate in class 006.

Rules for Alpaca Fleeces
1. Only raw prime blanket fleece may be entered in the show.
2. Fleeces may not exceed 14 months growth since last shearing.
3. Fleeces entered must be from the current year’s clip.
4. Limit of three fleeces per exhibitor per class.
5. All fleeces entered must have been sheared from animals owned by the exhibitor at the
time of shearing.
6. Mailed in fleeces must arrive no later than Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Send to: Lambtown Wool Show, % Dana Foss, 350 West A St.,
Dixon, CA 95620. Each fleece must be in a separate plastic bag, rolled flesh side out, and include a copy of the entry form with
the entry clearly marked. All shipping to and from Lambtown, USA is the financial responsibility of the exhibitor. Please indicate
your plans for shipping or pick-up on your entry form and tag. All fleeces that are not sold must be picked-up by exhibitor or agent
between 5 pm and 6 pm on the day of the event. All fleeces not claimed by 8 pm the day of the show
or are entered with no return instructions will become property of Lambtown, USA.
Hand-carried fleece must be checked-in between 7:00 am and 8:00 am on the day of the event, at Denverton Hall, Dixon May Fair grounds.
Please indicate your plans for pick-up on your entry form and tag. All fleeces that are not sold must be picked-up by exhibitor or
agent between 5 pm and 6 pm on the day of the event. All fleeces not claimed by 8 pm the day of the show or are entered with no return
instructions will become property of Lambtown, USA.
7. Each fleece must be in a clear plastic bag, rolled flesh side out. A “show cut” is not
required as judging will be done from a hand-spinning/fiber arts perspective. Tag
fleeces with the following information: Exhibitor’s name, division, class, color, breed,
sex, age & birthdate, and date of last shearing, mark NOT FOR SALE or the price per
ounce/pound/whole fleece as appropriate (fleece will be weighed prior to judging),
return shipping” or “pick-up” if not sold.
8. A 10% handling fee will be collected on all fleeces sold from the show. (The exception
is if you already have a vendor booth.)
9. The judge has the power to reclassify fleeces prior to judging. The judge shall also
have the power to split classes as he/she deems appropriate with approval of the
Lambtown Committee.
10. Promotional materials may be inserted in fleeces only after judging is complete.
11. Prizes will be awarded for Champion and Reserve Champion Colored and White
fleeces. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st – 5th place. Premiums will be awarded
depending on sponsorships.
